Hey hey, guys, gals, and in between pals! This week my Patrons and Twitch Subscribers have voted to see another drawing (y’all really like drawings lol). I bring you a blast from my past with a drawing I did in high school for a class.

Well, sort of.

See, I had serious untreated depression and ADHD (which I only recently got doctors to help me with) and sometimes I took shortcuts with my work because that’s all I could manage. I drew this the semester before the drawing class. On the first day of class, the teacher told us to draw her something that night and turn it in the next day. By the time I got home, I really didn’t have time or energy to draw something along with all the other homework my teachers had piled on me. So, I went through my drawings, found one I liked and turned that in. Got an A and I have no regrets. I turned in a second picture in this fashion, but that’s a drawing for another day.

The names of these two characters have been lost to the ethers that have been the last…checks dates…fourteen years. I look at it now and I can see so many flaws, but in those flaws, I see my growth. I used to look at these old pictures and worry that I would never be as good as I once was. And, don’t get me wrong, I was good. I didn’t think that because I was comparing myself to people that had a different style and experience level which lead me to judge myself unfairly.

I think at some point I’ll redraw this one. I think it has a lot of potential for improvement with the skills and tools I have now.
